About the Job
Maintenance handyman performs diverse upkeep, repair, and installation tasks, ensuring facilities are safe, clean, and functional. Key duties include repairing plumbing and electrical systems, painting, carpentry, appliance repair, and general maintenance. They require strong technical skills, experience with power tools, and ability to address, report, or fix maintenance issues.
Key Responsibilities and Duties:
- General Maintenance & Repairs: Perform general repair work, such as fixing drywall, repairing doors, installing flooring, and painting.
- Plumbing & Electrical: Repair faucets, toilets, and pipes; replace light fixtures, switches, and outlets.
- Carpentry & Upkeep: Assemble furniture, hang art, install cabinets, and perform minor carpentry work.
- HVAC & Machinery: Maintain and repair heating/AC units and company machinery.
- Safety & Reporting: Identify and report major repair needs, ensure adherence to safety regulations, and maintain a tidy workspace.
Requirements and Skills:
- Experience: Proven experience as a handyman, maintenance worker, or similar role.
- Technical Skills: Proficient in using hand and power tools, with a strong understanding of electrical, plumbing, and HVAC systems.
- Physical Ability: Strong physical stamina to lift heavy equipment and work on feet for long periods.
- Soft Skills: Good communication, problem-solving skills, and the ability to work independently.
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent is generally required.
